Haidhausen-Süd

Haidhausen-Süd is a dense residential area with historic apartment buildings, local pubs and quiet side streets descending toward the Isar. Its proximity to Au and the river gives it a slightly more intimate and neighborhood-focused atmosphere than central Haidhausen. The Isar provides a continuous recreational corridor, linking riverbanks, cycling routes, swimming places and wooded slopes across several neighboring quarters. Haidhausen contributes nineteenth-century streets, neighborhood gastronomy and steep connections toward the Isar, creating a particularly layered urban setting. The interest lies in the continuity of the built fabric: older façades, courtyards and street proportions remain part of ordinary use rather than functioning as isolated monuments.
