Praunheim-Nord
City part: Nord-West | State: 2025
Praunheim-Nord covers the northern residential edge of Praunheim toward the Nidda, Steinbach valley and open fields. Low-rise estates, detached houses and garden areas dominate over dense apartment blocks. The district has direct access to green corridors and recreational paths but fewer central shops and institutions than Alt-Praunheim or the southern settlements. Its peripheral position and fragmented housing pattern create a quieter, more landscape-oriented character. In Frankfurt’s statistical structure, Praunheim-Nord is associated with the broader Praunheim area. The immediate contact between urban development and substantial landscape or recreational space is one of the area’s clearest distinguishing qualities. Older plot boundaries, street widths and surviving buildings make the area’s history visible in everyday movement, even where later development has altered the wider setting.
