Höchst-Süd: Industriepark Höchst

Industriepark Höchst is a vast chemical and pharmaceutical campus on both sides of the Main, developed from the former Hoechst dye works. Production plants, laboratories, energy and logistics, pipelines and the landmark Peter Behrens administration building create a specialised industrial landscape. Many companies and thousands of employees work behind controlled entrances, so the area has almost no conventional neighbourhood life. Rail sidings, river transport and roads move materials, while commuter flows connect the site with Höchst station and western Frankfurt. The industrial park sits beside the historic town, producing a striking city contrast: timber-framed lanes and the Main promenade face an international manufacturing complex. Safety zones and technical structures shape the view from outside.
