Waldperlach: Putzbrunner Straße
City part: Ramersdorf-Perlach | State: 2024
Putzbrunner Straße forms a distinct street corridor within Waldperlach. Building fronts, junctions and everyday movement along the road set a more active rhythm than in the quieter side streets, while nearby housing keeps the area closely tied to ordinary neighbourhood life. The transition between the main route and its calmer edges is the defining spatial feature. Truderinger Wald is a broad woodland landscape on Munich’s eastern edge, valued for quiet paths, cycling and a sense of distance from the city. The Trudering setting combines retained village structures, garden-city streets and access to woodland, giving eastern Munich a notably green residential scale. Continuous paths link neighboring streets and districts, allowing the green space to function as both a destination and part of the everyday walking and cycling network. At its edges, the shift from traffic and built frontage to vegetation and open ground is often immediate, which gives the landscape a strong restorative effect.
