Hasenbergl-Lerchenau Ost: Hasenbergl
City part: Feldmoching-Hasenbergl | State: 2024
Hasenbergl forms a distinct residential sub-area within Hasenbergl-Lerchenau Ost. Its character comes from the relationship between building scale, private or shared green space and the short routes used in everyday life. Larger roads and local centres remain accessible, but the interior is experienced mainly through entrances, courtyards, gardens and quieter streets. Hasenbergl is a large northern post-war district with a strong social history and a highly diverse population. The separation of traffic, housing and green space reveals the planning ideals of the post-war period, but mature vegetation has made the ensemble feel more settled and less schematic over time. Different languages, food cultures and patterns of use are visible in ordinary daily life, giving the area a more international character than its architecture alone would suggest. Mature trees and adapted everyday uses now soften the repetition of the original building types, adding variety and a stronger sense of lived-in continuity.
