Aubing-Süd: Neuaubing
City part: Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied | State: 2024
Neuaubing grew as a railway and workers’ settlement and still carries a practical, community-focused identity. Historic housing, workshops, local shops and newer development create a varied western district with strong everyday life. The interest lies in the continuity of the built fabric: older façades, courtyards and street proportions remain part of ordinary use rather than functioning as isolated monuments. Ground-floor shops, cafés and everyday services keep the streets active and make many routine needs reachable without leaving the immediate area. Strong public-transport access makes the area useful to a wider catchment, but also concentrates movement, noise and commercial activity around the main stops and corridors. Housing, work, retail and leisure overlap within short distances, creating convenience and street activity but also a more intensive sound and movement environment. Compact blocks and interior courtyards mediate between active street fronts and quieter private spaces, producing a distinctly walkable inner-city scale.
