Neuallermöhe: Nordwest
City part: Bergedorf | State: 2025
Nordwest identifies a more specific residential subarea within Neuallermöhe. Its importance lies less in a single landmark than in the local street pattern, housing scale and everyday routes that distinguish it from neighbouring parts of the same district. Looking at this micro-area separately helps reveal differences in density, greenery, traffic exposure and the rhythm of ordinary residential life that disappear in a district-wide overview. Its design uses canals, ponds, footpaths and green corridors to organise relatively dense housing into distinct neighbourhoods. Apartment blocks, row houses and family homes stand close together, but water and planted spaces keep many routes separated from road traffic. Neuallermöhe’s special quality is its clearly planned relationship between housing and water: unlike the historic dike villages around it, the district interprets the marsh landscape through modern canals, compact development and a network of car-free green routes.
