Lichterfelde: Oberhofer Platz

Oberhofer Platz is a local residential square with surrounding apartment buildings and a quiet neighborhood setting. Oberhofer Platz is shaped above all by the relationship between the open square, its surrounding façades, paths and the streets that feed into it. In Oberhofer Platz, the daily character emerges through changes in seating, greenery, pedestrian movement and the uses at the edges of the space. Oberhofer Platz lies in the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, about 12 km southwest of central Berlin. Oberhofer Platz merges gradually into Königsberger Straße and Schütte-Lanz-Straße; building scale, street activity and open space change before any clear boundary is felt. The character of Oberhofer Platz is clearest along everyday routes between homes, public space and nearby destinations. Within Lichterfelde, Oberhofer Platz stands out through a clear public focus for the surrounding streets.
