St. Vincenz: Arnulfpark
City part: Neuhausen-Nymphenburg | State: 2024
Arnulfpark is a modern mixed-use quarter built on former railway land west of the main station. Contemporary architecture, tram connections, offices and landscaped courtyards give it a polished, highly connected urban character. Former tracks and railway-sized plots explain the broad spaces and linear routes; newer buildings reinterpret this infrastructure rather than erasing it completely. Housing, offices and local services now overlap with traces of the former use, creating a quarter whose new identity still remains connected to earlier layers of the site. Strong public-transport access makes the area useful to a wider catchment, but also concentrates movement, noise and commercial activity around the main stops and corridors. Retained buildings, old alignments or traces of infrastructure give the new quarter depth and help explain the former use instead of allowing redevelopment to erase it completely.
