Siebenbrunn
City part: Untergiesing-Harlaching | State: 2024
Siebenbrunn is a green southern area between the zoo, Isar landscapes and low-rise residential streets. Woodland, water and quiet paths create a recreational atmosphere with very little conventional urban density. The Isar provides a continuous recreational corridor, linking riverbanks, cycling routes, swimming places and wooded slopes across several neighboring quarters. The forest edge changes the area’s daily geography: ordinary residential streets quickly open onto longer walking and cycling routes with a noticeably quieter soundscape. Water is not only a backdrop here; it directs walking and cycling routes, opens long views and creates informal places for rest, sport and summer recreation. Continuous paths link neighboring streets and districts, allowing the green space to function as both a destination and part of the everyday walking and cycling network. At its edges, the shift from traffic and built frontage to vegetation and open ground is often immediate, which gives the landscape a strong restorative effect.
