Pasing
City part: Pasing-Obermenzing | State: 2024
Pasing is one of Munich’s strongest secondary centers, with an independent town history, a major railway station and a lively shopping core. Historic villas, busy streets, the Pasing Arcaden and the Würm create a varied atmosphere that feels like a city within the city. The Würm and its green banks preserve a linear landscape connection through western Munich, bringing water, old trees and quiet paths close to residential areas. Pasing adds a strong western subcenter with rail connections, shopping and historic residential streets, giving nearby quarters access to urban services without relying on the city center. Private gardens and mature tree canopies soften the architecture, provide privacy and make seasonal change unusually present in the streetscape. Water is not only a backdrop here; it directs walking and cycling routes, opens long views and creates informal places for rest, sport and summer recreation.
