Gartenstadt Trudering: Bajuwarenpark
City part: Trudering-Riem | State: 2024
Bajuwarenpark is the principal green space in this part of Gartenstadt Trudering. Paths, trees and open ground interrupt the surrounding built fabric, creating room for walking, play and informal encounters close to home. The edges are especially characteristic: ordinary streets give way quickly to a quieter landscape, while nearby housing keeps the space embedded in daily neighbourhood life. The Trudering setting combines retained village structures, garden-city streets and access to woodland, giving eastern Munich a notably green residential scale. Low building heights and greater spacing between homes create a slower street rhythm than in central Munich, with more room for gardens, trees and informal outdoor use. Private gardens, hedges and mature trees create a softer boundary between street and home than in denser Munich quarters and make seasonal change highly visible. The area depends on a few larger roads or public-transport stops for citywide access, while internal streets remain focused on local movement and residential calm.
