Rahlstedt: Düpheid
City part: Wandsbek | State: 2025
The subarea known as Düpheid gives this part of Rahlstedt a more precise local identity. It is best understood through the immediate combination of housing, everyday routes, nearby open space and the way local streets connect with the rest of the district. Treating Düpheid separately helps expose small-scale differences in urban form and daily life that are easily lost when Rahlstedt is described only as one large area. It includes distinct areas such as Alt-Rahlstedt, Oldenfelde, Meiendorf and Großlohe, so its housing ranges from historic village streets and villas to post-war estates, towers and extensive family neighbourhoods. The Wandse and its green routes cross the district, and the Höltigbaum nature reserve together with the Stellmoorer Tunneltal protects heath, woodland, wetland and archaeological landscapes near the city boundary. Local clubs and sports facilities reinforce strong neighbourhood identities.
