Alt-Treptow lies between Kreuzberg and Treptower Park, combining dense residential streets with proximity to large green spaces along the Spree. Alt-Treptow is shaped above all by the relationship between water, shorelines, access paths and the housing or open space immediately around them. In Alt-Treptow, the daily character emerges through views, recreational routes and abrupt transitions between built blocks and a more open waterside setting. Alt-Treptow lies in the borough of Treptow-Köpenick, about 5.0 km southeast of central Berlin. The transitions from Alt-Treptow toward Plänterwald West and Stralauer Halbinsel are gradual, marked by changes in building form, traffic and greenery. Around Alt-Treptow, even a few minutes on foot can bring noticeable changes in noise, greenery and access to everyday services. Within Berlin, Alt-Treptow stands out through the stronger sense of space created by the water within the surrounding district.
